I am writing in response to your notice at Pucv. I would like to be considered for the position in teaching  grammar.  I graduated from a PhD in Linguistics last month, so I hope my studies would qualify me for the position.

I am a teacher of english. I studied at Pucv and I have a Phd in linguistics.

I have worked as a teacher in some schools. My job was to teach in highschool and I was in charge of the worshops. I gained a lot of confidence and experience.

Although,now I would like to work at university and specialize only in linguistics.

I would welcome the opportunity to have a meeting with you and discuss about my qualifications for working  with you at Pucv. I have good references and I would be a valuable contribution for this institution.

The use of drugs in sports

In these days, drugs have become very popular. But something shocking about them is that people want to use them in order to compete and win in important competitions such as the Olympics.

Although drugs are bad for people’s health, some people agree with using them. These drugs are called steroids; they raise the level of resistance in people, making them faster and more athletic.

These people do not need to practice so much, because the steroids give them enough strength.

On the other hand, there are people that are against steroids. These people claim that steroids are terrible for health and, in other words, people who use them cheat in the competitions. Because this is an advantage for them to win.

In my opinion, I disagree with the use of steroids, because they damage people and, because of them the spirit of competition disappears.

Nowadays people are not interested in enjoying and having fun in competitions. Everything is about winning, which is sad because people have to win by their own talent and effort. 

Formal letter

Dear Sir,

After having seen your advertisement in a magazine, I am writing this letter to as if you could give more information about the African Safari.

I am very interested in travelling with my mother, whether she wants to go or not.

I would like to know how much the Safari costs and what is included in the trip. Also I would like to know the price of accommodation and the meals that we will have, if possible.

On the other hand, I was wondering if you provide the equipment or if we have to take it to the trip.

Please let me know as long as you can.

My face is not flattering at all.

Last year on April I went to an event called Fan Viña.

It took place in the “Quinta Vergara” and it involved anime, science fiction, costume and role and card games.

The event started at 12pm, but my friends and I arrived at 3 pm.

There were a lot of people walking around and buying things such as movies, anime stuff, clothes and collectible figures.

In the event you could also buy Japanese and Korean food and enjoy watching people fighting as samurais.

The hosts were on stage, doing different activities like karaoke and cosplay (costume-play). There were bands playing too.

The best thing about the exhibition was a band called “Mirror”. They sang all my favorite Japanese songs, showing videos and letting us singing with them. They sounded really cool.

In my opinion, this is a great activity that can be enjoyed by everybody.

It is very organized, fun and different.

It is totally recommended!!

                                                            Abortion in Chile

Nowadays young pregnancy is a very common situation in Chile. Many young women start their sexual life earlier which makes them change their lives and choose between life or death. 

Most of the girls choose abortion to escape from responsablity, because they do not have their family's support or just because the baby will interfer with their future. A terrible desicion that brings lots of consequences. 

Some people are in favour, but others not. The arguments against abortion are related to religion or the most accurate word: moral. Because a human being is being killed. This is why it is illegal.

Abortion should be legal only in specific situations, for example if the woman suffered sexual harassment, if the baby presents some disorders or if the woman has a disease. It sounds cruel, but for me it is the smartest solution, not only for the baby, for the woman and her family too.

In my opinion women at school should be teach and be aware of sexual life and how they can take care.

Family is a very important factor too in terms of sexual education and support.

If Chile had more education and culture this poblem could be avoided.
